A FEW GOOD THINGS TO KNOW
Before you settle in.
A simple app, with the details
out in the open.
Made for Windows
Ease is an English reading app for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. It uses your computer's CPU to generate speech, so loading and reading speed depend on your device.
Local speech, your own pace
The English voice and speech model are included in the download. You can start reading offline, with no account or separate Python installation.
When text can't be selected
Use “Read screen area” to drag around English text in an image or on screen. The download includes the recognition tools, so there's no extra OCR setup.
Clipboard use and Windows download notices
Reading a selection copies it to your clipboard, replacing the previous clipboard contents. Ease needs to remain open for its keyboard shortcuts to work.
The current Windows build is unsigned, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning when you open it. Loading the speech model can take a moment, especially on the first reading.
